| CE-Bar Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1977
and took it's name from the CE-Bar Ranch which once occupied
much of the land now served by the fire department. Although
still named a "volunteer" fire department the station is
manned 24x7 with full-time, certified Firefighter/EMT's.
Even with paid staff the department is dependent on the
additional trained volunteers to insure full effectiveness
in carrying out the department's charges.
In addition to the paid and volunteer staff, CE-Bar has
a mutual aide agreement with several adjacent districts
including Austin Fire Department. For regular fire
alarms CE-Bar and Westlake run automatic mutual aide with
each other's districts.
